2007 Goals Update:

1] Consumer debt down to $14,000. Currently at $26,187. Monthly amount of decrease needs to be $2,031 in order to meet this. Not happening this year but I can keep trying.

2] EF holding steady at $1,000. Currently at $763.29. Need to increase it by $40 each month to meet this.

3] Medical savings at least $500. Currently at $58.04. I pulled a good chunk of it out last month for dental and I have another bill to take care of next month so it's going to stay pretty steady at $0 essentially til perhaps September.

4] (Non monetary goal) Holding steady at my current goal weight. Still have 21 lbs to go. Need to loose 4 lbs a month to meet this.

In other news, I have a potential roommate coming by tonight. My first to actually respond. We'll see how that goes.

Things are a little bit in limbo right now. I did increase my debt by a little when I did the balance transfer but some of the funds are on hold still so it looks like more than it actually is. Next month will be a better snapshot.

Next month I'll be transferring some of the Other to a Credit Card at a lower interest rate but I'm waiting for that credit card to show a $0 balance before I do any balance transfer.

2007 Goals Update:

1] Consumer debt down to 14,000. Currently at $26,056. Monthly amount of decrease needs to be $1,206 each month to meet this. Not looking so hot right now. Hopefully once the balance transfer goes through and goal #2 is met then that will help.

2] EF holding steady at $1,000. Currently at $723.60. Need to increase it by $28 each month to meet this. Not a problem so long as I don't have any emergencies come up. And for the record, I did this past month but my EF still increased, so rock on.

3] Medical savings at least $500. Currently $144.55. Need to increase it by $36 each month to meet this. Shouldn't be a problem, at least until I need to get my crown.

4] (non monetary goal) Holding steady at my current goal weight. Currently have 26 lbs to go. Need to loose 3 lbs a month to meet this. Shouldn't be a problem.

Networth update, 2007 goals update (longish post)

I haven't cashed the loan check yet, I plan on depositing it today. I expect there'll be a hold on it for a few days and then I'll pay off my credit card. That's exciting. My 401k has not transferred to the new company yet, but it's increasing so I'm not complaining too much.

Brother officially turned in the paperwork for his GI Bill. The good news, he'll get backpay for every month he was in school from the time he started til it actually kicks in. That means he'll be able to pay me back in one lump sum. Of course, we need to actually get to that point but the office where he turned in his applicatino said the process has been streamlined and some people have been known to get theirs in 4-6 weeks. Worst case will be 2 months. That's better than 3 months like it used to be. Til then though we're going to be scrambling to make it. He has enough in his account to pay the second part of school this month. Im really hoping that his tax return will be large enough to get him through another month. And if we efile it should be here fast enough to cover for March. He's just waiting on one W2.

Got $20 for babysitting last night. Will get $28 today paid back for buying concert tickets for people. $14 will go back to gas/food money the other $14 will go back in the bank. Plus $25 on Sunday for childcare. That's $59 to go back into the bank to help recover from what I spent on my glasses. My regular budget amount for medical, minus what I'll need for prescriptions, will pick up the rest of the slack so nothing else will be affected.

-----

I've done pretty well not spending too much cash or gas while parents are in town. Of course that is in part due to the fact that they insist on paying for things. Smile But I do offer to pay my own share and I don't go crazy wth what I order.

My goals for 2007

December 31st, 2006 at 04:25 pm

I wasn't going to do any but this morning during my workout I thought of a couple so here are my goals for the end of 2007:

1] Consumer debt down to $14,000 (currently at $26,834) [monthly amount of decrease needs to be $1,070 to meet this]

2] EF holding steady at $1,000 (currently at $537)

3] Medical savings at least $500 (currently a little over $200)

4] (non monetary goal) Holding steady at my current goal weight (currently have 34 lbs to loose)

Wow that looks pretty intense now that I have it down on paper. We'll see what comes of it this next year.

I may revisit them at the end of each month to see where I'm at.
