Once was lost, now is found

February 27th, 2007 at 03:11 pm

I just got a call from the Portland Police. They found my car, not too far away either. No visible damage to it. I can't pick it up til after 8 am because they charge a gate fee for getting it before then. Very excited am I! First stop on my way home...picking up The Club! Smile

My Tuesday Deposits will not go into their respective accounts but instead will go towards the retrieval fee of $138. I had $80 to go to Emigrant and $48 to go to ING which leaves me just a little short but I'll pull that from my brick and mortar savings plus a little extra for The Club.

Yesterday in the mail I got a coupon for a free 30 day supply of Coreg. That's my most expensive monthly medication! Rock on. Can't wait to use it.

I'm so glad to learn the car was found and apparently in good shape! This is a blessing, indeed. Smile

It is great that your car was found and apparently in good condition.
However, I think it is sad that you, the victim, have to pay to retrieve it. Is there something illogical about this? I guess, just getting it back in one piece is worth it though.

I do have towing as part of my insurance so I'm going to fax them a copy of my bill and hopefully I'll get reimbursed for at least some of it.

I am SO glad you got your car back and in one piece! My neighbor's was stripped that very night. They use the hondas for street racers or something i think they said.

I'm glad they found it. I also think its unfair they make you pay to get your own stolen property back. It would be one thing if it sat in their lot for a month before you retrieved it, but when you go as soon as the next day after finding it? Monstrously unfair.

No kidding! They towed it at midnight and didn't even call me til 7 am so I couldn't make it within the four hour window to avoid paying a day's worth of storage either. At least insurance will reimburse me $100 of it.
